The Study Of Open Source Movement And Its Influence

The open source movement is a social movement and economic movement by hackers as the main body, to the Internet as a platform, to a high level programming technology and innovation ability as the basis. But the open source software as concrete reflection of the achievement, occupy an increasingly important position in the whole software industry. The development of the open source movement has been adhering to the principle of "free, open and sharing", and promote a revolution in the whole world, which arouse the enthusiasm of innovation, share the wisdom achievement and break the monopoly of the commercial. As time goes on, the range of influence of the movement has gradually expanded from the software industry to wider fields including the education industry, cultural industry and so on.This paper mainly introduces the background and the development history of the open source movement, the influence of the open source movement in other fields and try to evaluate it based on the detailed textual research of the history of the open source movement.The core content of this thesis consists of five chapters: The second chapter studies the background of the open-source movement; The third chapter studies the development of the open source movement and mainly introduces the evolution from the free software movement to the open source movement; The fourth chapter studies the influence of the open source movement in civil field and mainly elaborate it from three aspects of the manufacturing industry, education industry and Commerce.
