Study And Application On Contract Management Of New Product Development Project

Contract development management is the most important step of new product development process, It will take half time of team to develop and verify the first version contract. Contract development management includes project scope definition, schedule management and resource management. The key target of the project management is to keep balance between them.We study on contract developing and approving process and tool. In project scope definition process we use WBS to define the SMART(S-Specific M-Measurable A-Action-Oriented R-Realistic T- Time based) deliverables. For schedule management we introduce relational network, Gantt Chart and critical path. Resource management is weakness field in company C. It includes two sections one is human resource and another is non-human resource. For human resource management use RACI and resource matrix to discuss and practice. And in this part also discuss resource balance.A key point of contract is approval. Effective communication and appropriate stakeholders identification are quite important thing for contract approval. So in the contract approval session we develop communication plan format and stakeholder matrix. At the same time we discuss the approval way and output then practice them.Finally putting all the study output into project X to practice. In the project X contract developing and approving process we optimize the study output and adjust with company C current actual status to finalize and fix the process and tools for rolling out in future project management.From the summary data we can see that the terminate projects in 2014 reduced obviously. There is no change of launched project quantity. The percent of successful launch project increased from about 50% to 77%. It released much more resource for further business opportunities and make business continue increasing accordingly.
