In recent years, more attention is paid to the diode laser industry at home and abroad. The industry in China is mainly dominated by scientific research institutes as well as small and medium-sized technical enterprises led by science and technology experts. The success of new product development plays a critical role in the development of the enterprise and industry. Quality management is an important link in the process of new product development. Only does the enterprise attach more importance to and vigorously promote the related work, can it make new product development quality management into practice and play a positive role.In this paper, we study development and production of diode laser products of E company on the several typical quality potential risks in the process of new product development cases. They are described and analyzed by 5why, fishbone diagram, scatter diagram, pareto chart and other quality tools. The root causes of the potential quality problems are identified and classified.Counter measures and solutions base on the research results of quality hidden trouble of E company. They are elaborated into three links:pre-event management (quality planning), in the matter management (quality control) and afterwards management (quality improvement). In combination with the practical situation of E company, flexible use of APQP, FMEA, CP, SOP, quality tools such as SPC,8D to scientific management, has obtained good effects. We also contribute to improve E company’s process and system optimization and curing on new product development process quality management. Finally, subject research provides useful reference information for the diode laser industry and other technology-based small businesses.
