Project Management Method In Dongfeng Motor Corporation Material Procurement

Procurement is one of the business activities of enterprises,it's the start of business operating activities. One way to enhance the company's competitiveness is optimizing procurement model under the precondition of normal operation. While many enterprises meet some problems in procurement process. How to ameliorate procurement activities and improve procurement efficiency with project Management Methodology becomes more and more important.Since 1990s, the economic of automotive industry grew lasts for ten years, while it became slower from 21st century. Now, the development of automotive industry have different characteristic:First, Overcapacity exacerbated, the competition becomes much more serious; Second, the automotive market development in developed country becomes much slower, in contrast, the automotive market development in developing country becomes much faster, the development of automotive market have shifted from developed country to developing country; Third, with the advent of low-carbon environmental protection concept, the energy saving technology has become general interest. Although the auto industry has slowdown, it's still dominated industry in this world. The automotive industry has made tremendous contributions for China's economic development. In order to promote automotive industry rapid and stable development in China, how to strengthen the automotive industry procurement management and save it's cost has great significance, especially we are all in the face of difficulties of the adverse effects of the external economic environment factors and the changes in national policy in recent years. This paper chose Dongfeng motor corporation which is one of biggest auto companies in China as object, we analyze it's organizational structure, procurement process and supplier management, we find many problems in this company, so we give many recommendations with project management methodology. In theoretically, this research help to enrich the empirical literature on project management methodology, in practice, this research help to save the procurement costs and improve the efficiency of its procurement thus enhance the company's competitiveness.
