| In recent years, the automotive market of our country has been developing continuously. At the same time, with the evolution of technology and the increasing competition of the global market, more and more companies require product innovation and realize the importance of shortening development period of the new product. Therefore, how to speed up the product’s development period, how to improve product quality, and how to reduce production costs has become an important measure and method that automotive manufactures to win market competition.The concept of CE(Concurrent Engineering) was first put forward in 1988, and was widely applied to the foreign automotive companies. Concurrent engineering have been made a great achievement in shortening product’s deve lopment period and reduce manufacturing cost. Recently, it has been used by domestic automotive manufactures. However, because of the inexperience and different working mode and many other reasons of the domestic automotive company, concurrent engineering did not fully play its desired effect in application process. So, how to combine characteristics of domestic automotive company in order to maximize concurrent engineering will be an important method to enhance competitiveness.This paper introduces theory of the concurrent engineering firstly, and then, sort out organizational structure of GEELY Automotive and quality management approach during new product’s developing process. As well as, this paper is also pointed out some important factors which can influence concurrent engineering during a new product’s developing process. At last, combined with GEELY KC-2 project, this paper also pointed out unreasonab le organizational structure when apply concurrent engineering to the real; uncertain to the concept of concurrent; insufficient concurrent environment etc. Therefore, Respectively Put forward the optimizing organization structure, constructing parallel concurrent engineering environment and promote parallel thinking,At the same time, this paper proposes some recommendations that to form a cross functional group which is focused on product development, and clearly defined the role of the team members and their responsibilities in each stage, in order to form a streamlined, efficient and perfect engineering research team. All of these actions can speed up the progress of new product development approximately 20~30%. As well as, it can also reduce manufacturing cost nearly 15~20%. It has an important practical significance for GEELY that who is launching new product rapidly. |
