After the economic crisis in 2008, the U.S.A's economy suffered an overall depression. By contrast, major Asian big countries, especially China, are booming at the same time. In this context, the U.S.A began to adjust its global strategy, to put more stress on Asia in order to revive the economy, consolidate and maintain the leadership and strategic interests within the region. The paper focus on the TPP, which the U.S.A used a tunnel to return to Asia to realize its economic and strategic interests. The economic purpose is to revive the economy by means of expand exports and reduce unemployment. And the most efficient way to achieve this is enter the big Asian markets. By means of TPP, the U.S.A participate in the Asian affairs, build partnerships with each Asian countries, try to construct bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanism which led by its own. The strategic purpose is to contain China's rapid rise, and maintain the U.S.A's dominance in Asia, with consideration of China's growing position, influence and more voice on the local affairs.The U.S.A's Return to Asia strategy has threatened the interest of China's security, economy and other aspects, and brought the unprecedented pressure on China. Especially it has affected the China-East Asia FTA Strategy severely. Therefore, China should make countermeasures to reduce the serious impact from TPP led by the U.S.A.This paper was composed of four parts to discuss the influence of the impact of the U.S.A's return to Asia on China's east Asia FTA strategy. The first part expounds the connotation, background and motivation of the U.S.A's "return to Asia". From the "contempt" in the George W Bush era to the “Return” in the Obama era, the paper gives a definition of "Return to Asia". By analyzing the background and reason of the U.S.A's "return to Asia", the paper drew a conclusion that to regain control of the region is the essence goal. The second part mainly analyzes the path of the “Return to Asia” from the perspective of TPP. This part focus on the development process of TPP, which becomes the focus of world attention from an unknown name to the world, this part also summarizes its characteristics of high span, openness and high standard. The third part introduces the development of China's growing influence on the FTA in east Asia, then expounds the serious impact from the U.S.A led TPP on China FTA strategy. The paper also gives advices on the countermeasures China should make in order to overcome the impact as a response to the U.S.A 'restriction on China's development, maintain China's political, economic and military interests, and keep a sound trend in fast development of China's economy.
