A Study On Development Strategy Of PS Company In The Start-up Stage

In recent years, with the rapid development of biotechnology in the world, bio-industry had become a new backbone of the national economy and national strategic industry. As a biotechnology company, PS company was facing a good opportunity for development in its start-up stage, as well as some difficulties in resource acquisition and market development. So the strategic study of PS company seemed valuable in both theoretical and practical side.Firstly, using literature research method, concepts and theories relate to business growth and corporate strategic management were reviewed. Secondly, on the basis of a case study analyzing the developing process and current situation of PS company, company strategic management issues were discussed combining with start-up stage of business growth theory. Thirdly, PEST analysis and Porter's five forces model were used in external environment analyze, and PS company's internal resources and capabilities were also analyzed. Fourthly, growth-oriented development strategy were promoted as an important choice for PS company after a SWOT analysis of the external opportunities/threats and internal strengths/weaknesses, and a three-step-strategy system with technology as the core was also built for the start-up stage. Finally, four implements were developed in order to insure the availability of the over-all strategy of PS company, that is, brand building by focusing on the main industry, team construction by talent attracting, developing new markets by resources integration and persisting in innovation-driven growth. The main aim of this thesis was to provide reference for the decision making of PS company, as well as entrepreneurship and scientific management of biotechnology companies in China.
