Research On MANET Emulation&Testing Cloud

As a typical non-central network,Mobile Ad-hoc Network(MANET)can achieve multi-hop relay transmission between nodes and dynamic networking efficiently and flexi-bly without relying on(fixed)infrastructure.At the same time,MANET has low construc-tion cost and strong resistance to damage,so it has been widely used in military opera-tions,earthquake relief and other emergency scenarios.However,with regard to MANET which has complex network structure and changes topology frequently,on the one hand,the current mainstream network simulation software(OPNET,NS-3)cannot achieve ac-curate simulation and testing of its protocols and upper applications,on the other hand,MANET test-bed has high cost on build,operation and maintenance,and the simulation environment cannot be repeated.The paper designs and builds a emulation and testing cloud system for MANET in-novatively based on the current frontier technologies in the Information Communications Technology(ICT)field(including cloud computing,host virtualization,network virtual-ization and software-defined network).Specifically,after analyzing and verifying the emulation and testing requirements of MANET,this paper designs a framework of emu-lation and testing cloud system for MANET according to the index requirements of cloud resource management technology,and then implements a emulation and testing cloud system based on the open source cloud computing platform.The paper introduces host vitualization technology to realize node simulation,as well as software-defined network and network vitualization technology to realize link simulation.In addition,the paper ap-plies the system to test and evaluate the performance of three main routing protocols of MANET.The experimental results show that the emulation and testing cloud system designed by the paper can meet the testing and development requirements of the MANET network protocol and its upper application softwares.Compared with the network simulation soft-ware and the traditional emulation platform,the system can emulate the target MANET network in many typical scenarios more effectively and accurately.
