With the continuous development of wireless communication and remote sensing technology,the communication frequency requirements more and more high,the installation of multiple antennas in the limited space,which increase the cost and waste of resources,so the wideband and ultra wideband antenna design has become the field of antenna design an important research direction at the same time,miniaturization and integration have become the development the trend,so design of broadband antenna has become a hot topic.As everyone knows,the waveguide structure has been widely used in microwave communication,the traditional horn antenna with directivity and gain good advantages,but its disadvantages are also obvious,that is the size of structure is too big and too high profile,the application limit of this antenna in high performance satellite communication system and radar system.With the introduction of the substrate integrated waveguide(SIW)technology,this problem has been solved.The new transmission line combines the advantages of the traditional waveguide,and has the advantages of small volume,light weight and easy integration.With the introduction of this transmission line,many scholars have applied this technology to the antenna design,that is,the horn antenna based on the substrate integrated waveguide.This paper put forward a based on substrate integrated waveguide(Substrate Integrated,Waveguide,SIW)model of pyramidal horn antenna operating at X band,using the electromagnetic simulation software Ansoft HFSS15 to simulate the designed antenna,the results show that the antenna in the range of 8GHz ~ 12 GHz with return loss and-15 dB.The antenna has the advantages of small size,wide frequency band and simple structure.The main contents of this article are as follows:1.The basic structure and working principle of SIW are introduced.The transmission characteristics and its influence on the transmission performance are studied.The transition structure of one medium microstrip-SIW is studied and designed,and two curve matching is adopted to shorten the length of the matching line.2.A pyramid horn antenna based on SIW is designed,and a new improved structure is put forward on the basis of the design of the antenna.The return loss is reduced by scraping the copper layer on the dielectric plate of the antenna by the two time curve.The matching of the transmission line and the bell mouth is put forward byslit on the antenna dielectric surface.The designed bandwidth is 8GHz-12 GHz,and the return loss in the whole frequency band is less than-15 dB.3.A wideband pyramid horn antenna based on SIW is designed.The effects of the width of the cutting gap and the cutting length on the antenna return loss and the gain are studied.The essence of reducing the echo loss is analyzed.4.A wideband pyramid horn antenna based on SIW is designed.The effects of the width of the cutting gap and the cutting length on the antenna return loss and the gain are studied.
