The Software-Defined Network has injected new vitality into the innovation and development of the network and has broad development and application prospects.However,the implementation of SDN requires significant changes to the traditional network architecture and equipment,which makes it difficult to replace the traditional network completely in a short time.At the same time,SDN itself also faced many problems such as the unification of standards,the protection of reliability,and the challenges of performance,which hindered the overall advancement of SDN.Therefore,gradually adding SDN devices to an existing network to implement the gradual evolution from the traditional network to the SDN network is a feasible way to implement the SDN network.An application mode in which the SDN devices and the legacy network devices are mixed and co-existing will exist for a long time.The study of the hybrid SDN has important implications.At the same time,with the continuous development of network services,for example,the big data and cloud computing,people's demand for network resources is getting higher and higher,and the scale of the network is increasing.The energy consumption of the network has gradually become a problem that cannot be ignored.Energy saving issue in hybrid SDN networks is also worth exploring.The ideas of separating the transfer and control and the controller's centralized control over the entire network in SDN provide new solutions for network energy saving.In a hybrid SDN network,it is necessary to take into account that the SDN device has the characteristics of sensing the entire network,centralized control,and flexible scheduling.It also needs to take into account the difficulties of the traditional network equipment being difficult to be controled and scheduled.The research on energy saving issues must also consider the specific network situation.In this paper,the hybrid SDN is divided into the two-layer hybrid SDN and the three-layer hybrid SDN in combination with the existing network architecture.Then,analyze the communication in hybrid SDN and the perception of SDN controller about the entire network.In a two-layer hybrid SDN network,the SDN controller does not have strong awareness of non-SDN domains.In a three-layer hybrid SDN network,the routing of the traditional network device is difficult to be directly controlled by the SDN controller,but the SDN controller can directly control the routing of the SDN switches,which will finally make an indirect control on traditional device.Next,combining the characteristics of the two-layer hybrid SDN and the three-layer hybrid SDN,an energy-saving optimization model is established respectively for them.The main goal is to complete the communication requirements of the network by using as few links as possible.Then,according to the model,a corresponding energy-saving mechanism is proposed for the two-layer hybrid SDN and the three-layer hybrid SDN respectively.At the same time,certain delay protection is provided in the energy-saving mechanism of the three-layer hybrid SDN.Finally,the experiments and simulations verify the proposed energy-saving effect of energy-saving mechanism.
