In the satellite communication system and terrestrial cellular network,people can feel the convenience of the terrestrial cellular network,and also can clearly feel the satellite communications advantages.Based on the advantages of satellite communication,mobile satellite communication system will become an important method for the future of global remote communication,which the terminals and satellite location management as a focus of the system has important research significance.In order to study the location management of satellite communication system,the article first briefly describes the composition of low-orbit satellite communication system,the parameters of low-orbit satellite communication system,the coverage of location area,the division of location area and the traditional location management strategy,which provides the prerequisite for our subsequent research of management strategy.Secondly,the HLR(Home Location Register)in the communication system is easy to be the signaling bottleneck and lead to the "ping-pong effect" of the location area edge terminal.At first,the one-step forwarding pointer location management strategy of the terrestrial cellular system is analyzed,which can effectively reduce the shortcomings of the "ping-pong effect" of the edge terminals,but the length of the pointer for the satellite communication system is slightly less than that in the performance,and then the K-step forwarding location management strategy is proposed.The given corresponding algorithm implementation and specific process,by taking the appropriate pointer length with K value,aim to reduce the signaling between HLR and VLR(Visitor Location Register),HLR and the terminals,and improves the overall network performance.Then,with the satellite communication system facing the globalization,and it is very large to access to the network in the number of terminals,individual units for the HLR signaling interaction easily lead to network congestion,so the strategies based on static and dynamic grouping of the location management are studied and gives the specific implementation of the relevant process and algorithm description,relative to the former,which in the location management cost performance better.The latter we introduce GLR(Group Location Register)and dynamic profiling algorithm to achieve a certain period of time on the location of the dynamic group management,The interaction between GLR and HLR is carried out by the group as a unit instead of the interaction between the individual and the HLR,and it will not rely too much on the HLR in Paging,so as to achieve the goal of reducing the participation of HLR and VLR to make full use of,that both can effectively inhibit the network signaling congestion,but also make full use of local resources.The simulation results also show that the location management cost can be reduced and the network performance can be further optimized under the premise that the weights and thresholds are suitable.Finally,the thesis gives general scheme of location management for low-orbit satellite communication system..
