With the popularity of intelligent terminals and the rapid development of mobile communication services,people put forward higher requirements on the transmission rate and reliability of the communication systems.Multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)technology as an important technical means to meet these requirements has been widely used in the communication systems,but the traditional MIMO technologies have higher implementation cost and complexity.In order to solve this problem,a novel multiple antenna transmission technology with single radio-frequency characteristics--spatial modulation(SM)technology is proposed.Compared with the traditional MIMO technology,it not only can effectively reduce the cost of implementation,but also has a simpler signal processing mode at both ends of SM.However,the traditional SM technology still has the defects of low spectral efficiency and the lack of transmit diversity.In order to solve the problems,generalized spatial modulation(GSM)and space-time block coded spatial modulation(STBC-SM)are proposed.This thesis bases on the existing SM schemes,aims at improving the error performance of system,and studies SM and its extension schemes deeply,some optimized transmission schemes based on SM are proposed.The main works and innovations of this thesis are as follows:1.Using the union bound theory to analyze the error performance of SM,and based on the results of theoretical analysis,the influence of system configuration and signal modulation constellation on the BER performance of SM system is discussed,at the same time,a new signal constellation design algorithm is proposed.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the BER performance of SM without introducing extra overhead.2.Based on the basic principle of GSM and adaptive algorithm,an adaptive generalized spatial modulation(AGSM)algorithm is proposed.The algorithm uses the channel state information obtained from the receiver to select the optimal spatial modulation constellation for the bit mapping,thus improving the BER performance of the system.Further,a low complexity AGSM algorithm is also proposed,the algorithm can greatly reduce the computational complexity of the AGSM algorithm by reducing the search space of optimal spatial modulation constellation,so it is more easy topractical application.3.In order to further improve the performance of the STBC-SM scheme,a superposition space-time block coded spatial modulation(SSTBC-SM)scheme is proposed.By redesigning the codeword structure,the proposed scheme can achieve better error performance than other STBC-SM schemes with similar detection complexity.
