Over the last decade the demand for high data rate is continuously growing,many approaches has been introduced.However the significant 60 GHz band offer various advantage over the current existence communication bands,such as availability of not less than 5GHz of continues bandwidth.Also 60 GHz radio is the largest unlicensed bandwidths being allocated in history.Despite these advantages,mm-wave base communications faces number of important challenges that must be solved.The applications of OFDM technology to radios operating in the 60 GHz band has stimulated much interest in research community.The implementation of these systems has brought series of design challenges since successful design must traverse multiple design representation layer and experience numerous transformations.Based on necessary background of OFDM systems which attempts to tackle the challenges that comes with different design layers,this major design challenges can be highly complex integrated systems,and their overall performance depend on a careful balance of different component specifications,OFDM physical layers and RF transceiver need to be designed to support these wideband and narrow channels plans to insure coexistence with 60 GHz devices which will support emerging applications such as high quality uncompressed videos streaming and fast large file transfers,This thesis focuses on the simulation of an OFDM baseband processing system for 60 GHz radio it cover the OFDM system simulation including identification of key simulation parameters,this will lead to supporting data rate up to1.5Gbps which nowadays is very desirable,also a type of antenna will be proposed and explored to meet the required performance specification with acceptable cost.The whole system then will be simulated using Simulink,verified,synthesized and also I will recommend some design and implementation consideration for 60 GHz OFDM hardware demonstrators.Also I will present some future challenges and future directions for 60 GHz communications system.
