Weather radar is the most important tool for meteorological monitoring which have been widely applied in people's livelihood, aviation, agriculture, military affairs and other fields.Dual-polarization weather radar is the radar which add dual-polarization technology on Doppler Weather Radar. It get more information by emitting the horizontal polarization waves and vertical polarization waves in order to achieve a more accurate meteorological monitoring. The signal processing system is its core and the results have a direct impact on meteorology identification and judgment. In this paper, the precipitation echo data collected by C band dual-polarization weather radar is analyzed to obtain the pre-basedata.Firstly,the system composition, the type of transmission wave and the working mode of radar system are briefly described.Whatsmore, the detection principle and the sampling method of precipitation signal are also given, which lays a theoretical foundation for signal processing. The third chapter details the signal processing process: First, using the FFT with notch to suppress the ground clutter.Next, using the time series after ground clutter suppression to calculate the autocorrelation and cross-correlation in order to get the parameters and threshold factor. Then using the threshold factor to filter the data.A speckle filter is a final pass, wherein isolated data points are removed and “black holes” are complemented.Designing a weather radar signal processing software by GUI in order to obtain the radar parameters and analysis the radar map after each step of signal processing. The performance of the algorithm and the function of the software are verified by the measured precipitation echo data.
