This paper explores the evolution mechanism and characteristics of public opinion on social media by discussing the model perspective, taking the "Discursive model" of public opinion evolution as the theoretical frame. The discursive model of the evolution of public opinion is related to the theoretical process of the researchers.Although the discursive model does not explicitly include the analysis of the factors that influence the evolution of public opinion as an important purpose of the discursive model, the core of the discursive model covers these theoretical elements.More broadly, social media statements are the direct vehicle for the evolution of public opinion, the most concrete manifestation of the public agenda, and the model of the evolution of public opinion is well suited to the analysis of social media content. The results show that it is effective to study the evolution of public opinion on social media with the view of discussing the model.First of all, according to the view of the discursive model, the discussion behavior in social media can drive the evolution of public opinion events, through the evolution of public opinion, fully reflects the process;at the issue level, social media issues can also drive the evolution of public opinion events;at the participant level, participants can also drive the evolution of public opinion events in social media,as well as social media, where public opinion evolves, the participants were more equal and diverse, and thus the dominance of the traditional media over public opinion was eroded by the emerging media and the general public, and the most influential users of the occupy Wall Street movement were not media users, but the promoters of campaigns; At the action level, through the Bayesian structured time series model,we have also proved the action to the social media in the evolution of public opinion. In addition,in exploring the structure of the discussion behavior network, through the method of Network Science, this study finds that the daily discussion in the occupy Wall Street movement does not result in too many close-knit discussion groups for 136 days, the average number of discussion groups formed daily was 2.54.What's more, the study's more interesting finding is that,in the daily discussion of behavior networks,a small number of right-wing users with a conservative bias can be found, and that this group has less interaction with most users and is far more connected. Finally,by using the view of public opinion to discuss the model, this study explores the various elements of public opinion evolution on social media, and demonstrates the important role of each element in the evolution of public opinion,at the same time, this study proves the validity of the model of public opinion evolution by using the typical events of public opinion evolution on social media objectively.
