With the development of high-rate and high-quality services represented by high-definition video and live webcasts, the demand for access bandwidth is increasing. As the most mainstream solution of FTTx,TDM-PON technology is widely used all over the world because of its simple maintenance, high reliability and low cost. With the increase of the requirement for the bandwidth of the optical access network, the existing TDM-PON technology can not meet the user's further demand for the access bandwidth.Meanwhile, operators hope that the next generation of PON technologies with passive characteristics will provide longer transmission distance and higher splitting ratio to cover a wider range and more users. Therefore,a smooth upgrade on the deployed commercial TDM-PON technology is one of the important evolution directions of the next generation PON.This paper is mainly carried out for the high speed uplink TMD-PON transmission scheme and burst mode DSP technology. The main research work is as follows:The signal damage under high-speed optical fiber transmission is analyzed theoretically. The factors that affect high-speed optical fiber communication are researched. Then it introduces the important high-order modulation pattern and receiving scheme under 50Gbps speed, such as 4PAM,PM-QPSK and 16QAM.Through the simulation and analysis of their spectral efficiency, receiver performance and system cost, the conclusion is drawn. The results show that the traditional PON system using IM/DD transmission scheme is difficult to meet the next generation PON technology, which demand large capacity, long distance and wide coverage.A 50Gbps and 1 OOGbps TDM-PON uplink transmission scheme based on EA intensity modulation-coherent detection is proposed.By combining the advantages of intensity modulation techniques and coherent detection techniques,it has dramatically increased receiver sensitivity with the simple ONU transmitters. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can provide 29dB power budget and meet the performance requirements of typical TDM-PON scenarios.Considering the high cost of coherent receivers, several improved schemes for coherent receivers are proposed, which effectively reduce system complexity and cost.A burst mode DSP scheme for 50Gbps and 100Gbps TDM-PON transmission damage is proposed. An RDE algorithm based on adaptive equalization is adopted to process the 4PAM signals for dispersion compensation and polarization demultiplexing. The simulation results show that the algorithm has high dispersion tolerance and can effectively compensate for the transmission damage of different burst packets. At the same time, according to the need of sampling clock synchronization of coherent receiver,a clock recovery algorithm suitable for 4PAM modulation format is proposed. The algorithm is simple and can effectively track the sampling phase error and compensate.Aiming at the need of fast convergence of DSP algorithm in burst mode, this paper proposes a data-aided approach. The method of data-aided approach is used to process the result of the previous burst to process the next burst of the same ONU,Which effectively improves the convergence speed of the algorithm and meets the requirement of burst mode receiver for overhead.
