With the size of the data center increasing,the electric interconnected network in traditional data center has encountered bottlenecks in the aspects of network scale expansion,energy consumption reduction,bandwidth increment and delay decrement.However,the optical interconnected network with the advantages of high bandwidth,low latency,energy saving and multiple switching dimensions,has become the trend of future data center development.The current researches mostly focus on the design of optical network architectures,but do few researches on the resource management of optical interconnection data centers.In particular,due to the wide adoption of virtualization technologies,proposing a reasonable virtual machine placement algorithm,which can fully discover the advantages of optical interconnection network and achieve the coordination of computing and network resources,is crucial to improving data center performance.To this end,this dissertation carries out a research on three aspects,including the architecture of optical switching data center,the design and simulation of virtual machine placement algorithm in optical data center network,and the deployment of virtual machine placement algorithm in the virtualization platform.The main work and innovation of this thesis can be summarized as follows:1)By analyzing the implementation principle and topological features of OpenScale,a topology-aware virtual machine placement algorithm TVMP is proposed to match the characteristics of OpenScale's small-world topology,in which has high aggregated traffic between virtual machines,so as to enhance the network communication performance.The performance analysis of TVMP algorithm,by setting up a simulation platform,shows that TVMP,compared with the virtual machine placement algorithm in the traditional data center,can reduce the communication costs by 30%?40%,and decrease the normalized load of the network which is in favor of load balancing.2)Based on the OpenScale optical interconnection network architecture,a virtualized data center experiment platform is set up,by adopting SDN-based optical network controller and OpenStack-based cross-layer resource controller,to actually deploy the TVMP algorithm and completed the design and implementation of the virtualization solution on OpenScale.Finally,the experimental results are given to proves the effectiveness of the algorithm and the feasibility of the virtualization scheme.
