Arendt In The Chinese World—A Research On Publication And Dissemination Of Hannah Arendt's Book

As the 20th century well-known Western thinker and political theorist,Hannah Arendt put forward many original ideas like "The Banality of Evil" "Labour?Work?Action".On the other hand,her explorations in "totalitarianism"and "public domain"have also yielded fruitful results,and make a series of profound insights and perspectives.This paper collected and examined the publishing situation and book information in the Chinese translation of Hannah Arendt,and corrected some mistakes in the publishing time.Combined with the chart on the translation of the book in the reader's feedback and quantitative analysis:the extent of the spread of books has a positive correlation with its own reputation,the influence of publishing houses and the level of translation.At the same time,some opinions and corresponding countermeasures to the existing problems in Arendt's Chinese translation:unified translation standards,especially the terms in academic works as well as the translation standards for their interpretation,establish the authority of translation in order to reach a better consensus on academic translation.At last,through the book review of Arendt's works and the online research about her research articles,as well as the collection and compilation of social platform data such as Weibo and Zhihu,this paper analyzes the spread and influence of Arendt's thought among domestic scholars and the general public.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction,explain the research background.research methods of the subject.the significance and value of the topics,summarizes the domestic research on Arendt and her works;The second part is divided into two content sections.The first section expound various published Chinese translations of Hannah Arendt from the perspectives of publishing houses,translators,editors,content composition in mainland area.The second section provides a summary statement of Arendt's book publishing in Taiwan area;The third part puts forward some views on the introduction of Chinese translation,this part will be discussed from three aspects:the introduction and translation of foreign countries,the consideration of bilingual problems in Arendt's writing,the unification of translation standards and the establishment of the authority of translation;As the main part and focus of this thesis,the fourth part will be divided into four sections.The first section will analyze the data of Arendt's books on major book sales platforms such as sales volume and readers' ratings,the second section will analyze the spread of Arendt's book from the perspective of professional book reviews,the third section discusses Arendt's own thinking and its impact on domestic scholars,the fourth section analyzes the feedback and communication from Arendt in the readership,in order to examine and discuss the influence of Arendt's thought on the general public;The fifth part is the conclusion part,this part will summarize the research on this topic and point out the deficiencies in the research process.
