As an important method of the electromagnetic environment simulation,the ray tracing algorithm has been widely applied recently.The ray tracing algorithm has obvious advantages in efficiency and accuracy compared with other algorithms when applied in large size electromagnetic environment simulation.However,because of the limited computation speed of ray tracing algorithm in large size electromagnetic environment,it is also an important research topic to improve the efficiency and accuracy of ray tracing algorithm.Based on the analysis of ray tracing model In the ray tracing algorithm,an improved curved ray tube model is proposed.This curved ray tube can be used to accurately predict the paths of the diffraction rays.It is proved that the curved ray tube is reasonable and closed.Compared with the existing four-ray tube model,the curved ray tube model avoids the redundancy caused by completing the ray tubes.It also effectively reduces the calculation time and improves the tracking efficiency.The theoretical calculation was applied to verify the high efficiency of the curved surface ray tube model,and it achieved a speed up of 4 times compared to the four-ray tube model.In this paper,the method for calculating the reflection ray tubes is also improved.Since the existing method will cause the missing of rays when dealing with the reflection on the concave terrains,a specific method of getting reflection ray tube on the concave terrains is presented in this paper.The reasonable and feasible of this method are proved by theoretical derivation.In order to verify the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed model and algorithm,the simulation platform provided by the lab,which is realized by the curved ray tube and the algorithm of the reflection proposed in this paper.Compared with the four-ray tube model,the average computational time of the cured surface ray tube model is shortened by about 18.49%,and the average error is only 2.93%,which verify the efficiency of the curved ray tube model.Both of the concave terrain and common terrain were simulated by the proposed reflection method,and the average error of position between the theoretical coordinates and the calculated coordinates of the reflection points is only 1.13 × 10-3 m,which verify the accuracy of the reflection method.
