The micro focal spot x-ray tube is an x-ray source with 1.0~100?m x-ray focal spot's nominal size. Since its high space resolution, this source is the kernel in such scientific researches and applications as biomedicine, biochemical dynamics, industrial nondestructive examination and detection x-ray microscopy and micro-CT. This paper designs the whole structure of an x-ray tube.The anode of an x-ray tube includes the anode body? target and the connecting structure of the glass shield and the anode. We use the OFC(TU1) to create the anode body, tungsten as the target and the kovar alloy(4J29)as the interim structure of the glass shield and the anode. We design an method of casting which is used to connect the target and body, research the influence of sealing-in time, temperature, gas circumstance on the intensity of the connecting of K5 glass and the kovar alloy. As a summary we raise several advises on heat dissipation of the alloy.The cathode includes the electron emission structure ? cathode shield and the connecting structure of the glass shield and the cathode. We design a thermal emission system using the tungsten, the kovar alloy as the main material of the cathode body and we connect the part of cathode using the spot welding. In connecting the glass shield and the cathode we use a structure of kovar pillar which can balance the potential of the cathode.In the package of an x-ray tube we mainly focus on the principle of the electron emission system and develop a focusing method using software. The emission system is the key part of the x-ray tube, we simulate the thermal emission, potential of the focusing field, electron tracking using the Monte Carlo method, FEM and Runge-Kutta method in the MATLAB, Using the model of an x-ray tube designed by ourselves, we analyze the simulating data and find out the theoretical focal length of 5.25 mm.In the final we test the tube,including the feedback current on given import, fatigue test, image test and testing the size of the focal spot. We get a ellipse spot size of 60?m in long axis and 30 ?m in short axis which is better than most tubes made inland. In summary we analyze the shortage of this research depending on testing data and raise several improving method.
