A Study On The Spread Of Traditional Culture Through The Cultural Reality TV Shows

Since the broadcasting of "Hero of Chinese Characters" jointly produced by Henan Satellite TV and iQIYI,a group of representative cultural reality shows have mushroomed on the screen,including "Chinese Idiom Congress"(CCTV)and "Chinese Phrase Heroes"(Henan TV)for promoting Chinese idioms and phrases,"Chinese Poetry"(Hebei TV)and "Chinese Poetry Conference"(CCTV)for promoting Chinese poetry culture,"Chinese Surnames"(Henan TV)to interpret Chinese surname culture as well as other TV shows for traditional culture spread such as "Chinese Good Story","National Colors",attracted people's attention and aroused the awakening of national cultural awareness and young people's enthusiasm and love on traditional culture.These cultural programs which were seen unoptimistic by TV practitioners earlier turned out to be a new favorite on the screen since 2013,and make a new round of television transmission in a more relaxing way.So,What are the problems of such programs in the future development and broadcasting? This paper,taking this kind of program as the object,studies the spread of traditional culture through cultural reality TV shows under the influence of communication modes from the perspective of communication science.The study has five sections.The first part describes the development process of cultural reality shows,including three stages of the budding period,emerging period and the trend of cultural reality shows.The second part shows the type of cultural reality shows in terms of traditional culture.They can be divided into four categories such as reality shows of Chinese culture and Chinese characters,reality shows of ancient literature and poetry,traditional opera reality shows and shows for ethical and moral education.And it also describes the characteristics of traditional cultural transmission through cultural reality shows,the restrictions of cultural spread of cultural reality shows and the possibility of transcendence.
