A Study Of Differences Between Translations And Annotations Of Analects

As the craze for traditional Chinese culture rises,translations and annotations of the Analects are constantly published,which are of great help for moderns to understand the Analects.However,translators and annotators vary in the explanation of some sentences in the Analects and the style they use.So this article compared and analyzed these translations and annotations of the Analects mainly in terms of style,understanding of words,and explanation of sentences.The introduction part mainly discusses significance of topic,research status and research methods.The differences in style part mainly studies the differences between translations and annotations of the Analects in style and categorized and summarized these differences.The differences in the understanding of words part primarily studies the divergences between those translations and annotations in the interpretation of sentences derived from the differences in understanding words and categorizes and summaries them according to characteristics of modern Chinese words.The differences in the explanation of sentences part mainly expounds on Chapters the differences between those translations and annotations in the explanation of sentences and phrases and categorized and summarized the differences.This article laid particular emphasis on studying the differences between translations and annotations of the Analects in understanding of words and explanation of sentences,among which 28 are differences in the understanding of words,30 are differences in the explanation of sentences.This article adopted comparative analysis to study the differences between translations and annotations of the Analects in style,interpretation and other sides.The innovation of this article is that it classified and summarized the differences between numerous translations and annotations in interpreting scriptures and studied and discriminated them.In this way,it is possible to summarize the major difference between contemporary translators and annotators in the explanation of the Analects as well as the methods they use in explaining.
