In colleges and universities,a large number of students in some time online browsing video,directly from the Internet to download resources,take up a large of network export bandwidth resources.FTP service is simple to build,the overall network hardware requirements than the point-to-point sharing is lower.Therefore,FTP service is one of the important means to mitigate the concurrent traffic of campus network.High availability and high performance are two important indicators of the FTP service cluster system.High availability refers to the cluster system is robust,can overcome a single point of failure,part of the equipment or link failure will not lead to the overall system service interruption;high performance means that the cluster system computing,storage,disk read,write and network I/O performance to achieve a certain target,and the indicators of performance are better than multiple stand-alone system(using the same number of the same perfoemance equipment).For the needs of the campus network FTP service,from the service computing,network communications,storage backup analysis of the three links to start to provide a high availability of high-performance cluster system solutions:the appropriate increase in server hardware resources;improved Linux virtual server weighted least connection(WLC)load balancing algorithm;the use of link aggregation technology to solve the problems of link single point of failure and slow downloads due to insufficient bandwidth;the use of network storage server and RAID technology unified storage FTP service content resources,the overall upgrade cluster system Of the disk I/O and download speed.The actual deployment of the FTP service cluster was tested in Guangdong Industry Technical College.In usability testing,a single point of failure of the device and the link is simulated directly,and the service can continue to show high availability.In the performance test,the maximum transmission speed of the network,the average speed of disk read has been greatly improved,to achieve the desired purpose.Load balancing test,through the use of improved algorithm and the original WLC algorithm for download speed test comparison,indirect proof of the algorithm is better.The solution achieves high availability and high performance.
