5G compared with 4G m 5G communication service quantity will be explosive growth, the system's energy consumption problem will be more serious.Green communication is the inevitable requirement of future development,in order to achieve green communications,5G research and development to fully consider the green technology and green strategy.SM at any time only one transmitter antenna is active, only need a transmission link,it can effectively reduce the system's energy consumption. One of the shortcomings of SM is that it can not effectively overcome the frequency selective fading.Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing technology is a well-known technology that effectively resist frequency selective fading. In order to improve the ability of SM systems to resist frequency selective fading,SM technology can be combined with OFDM technology(SM-OFDM).The scheme improves the performance of the system under the frequency selective fading channel, but the number of RF required by the system is equal to the number of transmit antennas, and the energy efficiency of the system is not improved. In addition, the system also reduces the spectral efficiency of the system, the system's peak to average power ratio(PAPR)is much higher than the traditional OFDM system. In order to solve the problem of low energy efficiency and spectral efficiency of SM-OFDM system, this paper proposes a single RF SM-OFDM system based on carrier selection. The system only needs one RF at the transmitter,so it can improve the energy of the system effectiveness. In addition, the single RF SM-OFDM system based on carrier selection only selects part of the carrier transmission data at the transmitter, and the other carriers remain silent, thus reducing the interference between carriers.Simulation results show that the single RF SM-OFDM system can improve the bit error rate performance of the system while improving the energy efficiency of the system compared with the traditional SM-OFDM system. With the increase of the number of carriers, the complexity of the single RF link SM-OFDM system is high at the sending end.In order to reduce the complexity of the single RF link SM-OFDM system at the sending end, this paper adopts the carrier packet and precoding technology. The simulation results show that the complexity of single RF SM-OFDM system is significantly reduced by carrier grouping and precoding, and the more the number of groups is,the better the system performance is.
