Because of the special nature of the underwater environment, the battery of the underwater sensor network nodes usually cannot be replaced.Due to the characteristics of the underwater acoustic channel, the transmission speed of underwater acoustic channel is much lower than that of the terrestrial electromagnetic waves, which results in high transmission delay, low delivery ratio and so on.Therefore, the routing protocol design put forward higher requirements for node energy consumption, network lifetime and packet delivery ratio. To solve the problem of partial nodes premature death in the underwater sensor network, this paper proposes the Depth-coordinate System transformation Based Routing(DSBR)protocol, which is based on the DBR protocol. The DSBR protocol uses the direction from the sink node to the source node as the Z-axis coordinate transformation to transform the node depth, which results in different node depth in different source node and sink node established coordinate system. On this basis,a new method for depth threshold is proposed. The method enables packet forwarding direction toward the sink node, which further reduces the number of forwarding nodes in each hop packet.Extensive simulations on nodes energy consumption and packet delivery were conducted to evaluate DSBR,and the results have shown that DSBR performs better than DBR and protocols based on DBR in nodes' energy equalization and packet delivery ratio.
