Research On Email Archiving

Email is acting as an important mean of interpersonal interaction in this digital age.At present,China is generally not pay enough attention to email archiving,especially ignoring the private email which is a significant file resources.Based on the literature analysis and questionnaire survey,this paper sorts out the related concepts of email,email system,email backup and archiving,and discusses the necessity and requirementsof email archiving.The author elaborates email archiving from both management and technical aspects.First of all,this paper conducts a comparative analysis on typical email policies in China and other foreign countries,then further analyzes the existing problems of email archiving in China and accordingly put forward targeted solutions.Secondly,it discusses the technical solutions of private email and official email archiving,and further study the development trend of future email archiving in order to provide suggestions for the improvement of domestic email management and to be beneficial to build a comprehensive,threedimensional social archives resource system.
