Recently,low-cost passive optical network has been installed throughout several countries.Fiber To The X has been expanded nationwide in the “Broadband China” strategy efforts.At present,optical device and optical modules of high speed optical access network of 10G-EPON and XG-PON based on time division multiplexing technology have been able to realize the industrialization quantity production.However,with the emergence of the emerging multimedia and lots of high-speed network business,studies of the next generation optical access network has become the focus of research.As early as 2011,Full Service Access Network(FSAN)and International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector(ITU-T)began discussing the next generation optical access network.In the next few years,TWDM-PON was stated as the standard system for the next generation optical passive network,and G.989 series protocols were put forward accordingly.The TWDM-PON requires a colorless ONU to achieve efficient control of multi-wavelength signals.And the wavelength tunable transmitter is a key point in domestic and international studies.In this thesis,a tunable burst laser based on EML and SOA is designed for the transmitter of TWDM-PON colorless ONU,which can be wavelength tunable in 10Gbit/s upstream direction.This thesis firstly introduces the background and the domestic and foreign research status of the selected topic,simply describes the development of PON and the main technology in PON.Secondly through the analysis of G.989 series protocol,the tunable burst laser in this thesis is proposed,and then this thesis expounds the working principle and design scheme of the laser.Thirdly tests of both the device level and module level has been done to verify the performance of the laser,and the results of the tests show that the laser meet the requirements of customer.Finally,the thesis summarizes the whole design and puts forward several problems to be solved and optimized in the next future.
