With the rapid development of technology and improvement of people's life,a variety of electronic devices become more and more popular,such as mobile phones,tablet PC and so on.The battery is an important part of these devices.Therefore,the battery is used widely and the demand is also growing.Now the battery labeling is still done by manual or semi-automatic labeling machine inefficiently and costly in some enterprises,and that reduces the competitiveness of enterprises.With the automation and machine vision technology maturing,the cost of machines is declining and it is a good choice for battery manufacturers to use the machines instead of the workers.In this paper,we analyze the labeling technology,the control system and the machine vision of a labeling machine and design a high precision and efficiency machine.After analyzing the technical process and the key technology of the labeling machine,we design a labeling machine and introduce the automatic take-up module in detail.The critical technology is automatically removing labels.By analyzing the main factors,a reliable transmission and decoupling mechanism is designed to realize the process of automatic label acquisition.Since a motion system is very important for a labeling machine,we have to design it seriously.According to the characteristics of different control methods,we use the open motion control card as the control method.Through the analysis and calculation of the transmission system,we select the appropriate servo motor and drive for the control system and set up the hardware platform of the control system.The upper computer software is programmed by Visual Basic to realize the automation of the labeling machine.The machine vision system is designed to get the required label and the accurate position of the battery edge.According to the demand,a suitable visual system is built.By using the template matching technique,we can get the flatness and rotation angle of the label.We can use the Sobel algorithm and Hough transform to get the edge information of the image,and then the machine labels the battery's edge by using these accurate position.Finally,the whole labeling system should be evaluated.And we also need to analyze the tolerance of the machine.We do some experiments to test the key processes of the machine.The result shows that the qualified rate reaches 97%.So we can get the conclusion that the automatic labeling machine meets the designed requirements and achieves the standard required for production.
