Object measurement technology is an important means of the image and video detection technologies.And it represents that we obtain the images and videos by cameras firstly,then solve them with the knowledge of optical geometry,computer vision and image processing,and finally calculate the length and height of the object.This technology can provide the key trial for criminal investigation and lawsuit evidence,thus keeping investigation direction to narrow the scope of investigation.This paper does some research about 3D measurement.It is divided into length measurement and height measurement specifically.The main research has the following three points:(1)Improve the camera calibration based on least squares optimization.it utilizes the calibration results of the left camera and the right camera separately to get the spatial relationship between them.Due to the poor stability of the least squares optimization,so this paper optimizes the parameters with the total least squares.In the case of ensuring the estimation precision,it improves the stability of parameter estimation.(2)Propose the length measurement based on the camera matrix.In order to avoid the stereo matching technology,this paper calculates the camera matrix directly to get the 3D coordinates,so as to improve the accuracy of the measurement.(3)Study the height measurement based on the vanishing point.Because of the lack of necessary geometric constraints,it is difficult to obtain the image point of the pedal point.This paper calculates the vertex and pedal point with the vanishing point,and then obtains the height in the model formula.Experiments show that the system of object measurement can calculate the camera parameters more accurately,meanwhile enhance the stability.In a word,it can measure the length and height of the object more accurately.Compared with the real size,the error rate is less than 5% on average.
