Research On Newspaper Health Communication In Republic China(1927-1949)

Yuet Wa Po in the history of the Republic of Guangzhou newspaper had an important position,with the highest-selling at that time.Social news was well informed,and the column of medical and health broke a new path.Illustrations made it famous around citizens.The newspaper had been published for more than 20 years,which recorded of all aspects of social changes in Guangzhou,with a high research value.It is well known that health care is an important significance for individuals,society and even the country.The media,not only as the sender of information and the watchman of societybut also as a link between personal and social ties,in the transmission of medical knowledge,improving the concept of social health and health,dealing with public health crisis,had played an increasingly highlight important role.Yuet Wa Po established the column of medical which named Yishi Weisheng,not only set up a newspaper brand but also spread f health knowledge of Western medicine,attracted the other newspapers competing to imitate.Social news reported on public health also Pharmaceutical advertising played a part in health communication.Therefore,those content not only promote the modern concept of social medicine,but also reflect the health concept advocated at that time.The study based on text of health communication in Yuet Wa Po.Summarize the content,methods and characteristics of health communication in that newspaper.In consideration of the Republic of China national social environment and newspaper development background,the study analyzed the role of Yuet Wa Po in health communication activities.The study divided into four stages: First stage Elaborated Social characteristics and newspaper development background,for studying the period of the mass media as an important medium for the spread of health and chance.On the basis of finishing the content,second stage analyzed the form,topics,discourse and other aspects of the text,to summarize the characteristics of the newspaper health communication.The third stage combining with the theory of modernity,this paper analyzes the characteristics of different time period of health communication.In Forth stage,health communication activities of the newspaper affect onspreading Western medicine and new health concepts is the main contents,exploring the promotion of health concept change.Finally,Through the above analysis summed up its excellent experience for the future of China's public health activities to provide advice.
