Media News Report Rendering Of The Typical Characters Of "Agriculture, Aural Areas And Farmers"

The “agriculture,rural areas and farmers” issue infects the sustained national development and comprehensive social progress.Then media's full attention to the this issue promoting an positive role on the solving of the problems of agriculture,rural areas and farmers.With the nation's growing emphasis on this issue and the society's rapid development,the media's attention on this issue has changed.This paper selects the China Journalism Award news reports form 1991-2016 as its analysis text,to explore the media rendering of this issue through the researching and analyzing of the typical characters and their images.Through analyzing,the paper finds that the media's attention to those characters shows an obvious bias on the selection of professional identity,gender,age,political affiliation,ethnicity,educational background and so on,which shows different characteristics at different stages.The media rendering's specific performances are as follow: the media mainly concerns the village cadres,farmers,migrant workers and teachers;the media shows tense attention on the village cadres;owing to the national politics' changing,the media puts more attention to the migrant workers gradually;the news reporting are more about the middle-aged and elder,while the media also gives increasing coverage of youth groups in the new century.With the addition of college student-village cadre,the village cadres' age structure has change to a younger ager level comparing its middle-aged and older age level since 1990 s,who also welcome an whole improving of the educational background.The typical character are mainly males.Meanwhile,the characters from the ethnic minority areas gets an increasing attention.The typical characters' images show a diversity manifestation in the whole extent.Along with the development of the era,their images have also changed obviously.In the different political environment,the village cadres' image has changed from the leaders of reducing poverty in 1990 s to the forerunners with modern leading capacity and severs of the masses in nowadays.The farmers' images mainly reflect on the political and cultural frames,with an media image change from the patriots of the nation and army to the farmers with modern consciousness.The migrant workers shows different media images with the policies' changes,whose image are the proactive workers and new citizens wanting to integrate to the city,and to be rendered as the group with high quality under a moral frame.
