With the coming of information age,digital image processing technology rapid development,digital image processing technology has been widely used in many areas of life,image has become the direct source of access to information,and image denoising and edge detection module is the basis of digital image processing technology,it is necessary to further study Fractional order calculus theory as a mathematical theory,the fractional order differential operator and the fractional integral operator the uniqueness of the action of the signal,the fractional calculus theory used in image denoising and edge detection significantly.This paper studied the basic theory of image denoising and edge detection,lists the types of noise in detail,introduces the edge detection for image quality evaluation model as well as the traditional image denoising method and the method of classical edge detection operator,and introduce the advantages and disadvantages of these algorithms,lay the foundation for later work.Second explains the theory of fractional calculus,and introduces several definitions and the relations between several kinds of definition of fractional calculus,this paper discusses the fractional order calculus,the function of signal fractional differential operator can improve the high frequency part of signal,and the fractional integral operator can improve signal low frequency part,the characteristics of fractional differential operator is available to deal with edge,fractional integral operator to remove noise.And then fractional integration theory applied to image denoising,combined with the traditional adaptive filtering algorithm,with the second derivation method to determine the suspicious noise points,according to the basic principles of fractional integral,construct the fractional integral mask,get an improved algorithm,this algorithm of image,can remove the noise in the image.Finally introduces the theory of fractional order differential in the application of edge detection,combined with the traditional canny edge detection algorithm,the two-dimensional gaussian function of the variance of adaptive adjustment,vertical tectonic level 45 degrees 135 degrees four directions of fractional order differential gradient templates,introduced a new iterative algorithm adaptively according to the image to generate high and low threshold value,get a new canny edge detection algorithm based on fractional differential.
