Fractional calculus is an integer-order calculus operations to promote it under the ordinary meaning of the operator calculus operation extended to order them from an integer fraction of. As computing technology development and application of fractional calculus operators in-depth study and exploration, fractional calculus at home and abroad has become a research hotspot in many fields has played an increasingly important role.The edge of the image reflects the basic features of the image, in the medical field, medical image edge detection in medical image processing and analysis of key steps, which directly affects the clarity of the speed and accuracy of medical diagnosis. In this paper, fractional calculus of basic theories and methods, on the basis of the existing literature is presented an improved algorithm based on fractional calculus of the image edge detection method, not only effectively extract the image edge features, but also won the better anti-noise performance.
