As the rapid development of mobile communciation,the application of frequency is going into the era of millimeter wave.In the design of the 5G mobile communicaiton high density network,A new high frequency and high gain antenna is needed in order to reduce the interference and achieve high data transmittion speed.Aimed to antenna application in this circumustance,A dual-band all metal reflectarry antenna by taking advantage of the waveguide's cutoff characteristic is proposed in this paper which can work in both 28 GHz band dand 60 GHz band.The antenna array owns 26×38 elements.And when it works at 28 GHz,the gain can achieve 25.5d B and the side lobe levels are-15.4d B and-20.3d B in E-plane and H-plane pattern respectively.When it comes to another frequency,the gain can be 31.3d B.And the side lobe levels in E-plane and H-plane are-22.8d B and-24.8d B.In the process of antenna design,the relation between phase compensation and size adjustment is researched and the calculaiton formulas are subsequencely given.Meanwhile,a staggered method of array element deployment is designed.Compared to regular method,the result is that the gain of antenna gets a little bigger while the side lobe level gets a little smaller.However,the changements are not significant.In addition,accoding to the designed reflectarray antenna,the patterns of horn feed antennas are fitted by the power funcitons with the cosine function as the base number.And by studying the characteristics of the designed array antenna,the radiation fields are derived in theroy and the algorithom is also given.With this algorithm,the E-plane and H-plane patterns of the designed reflectarray antenna are calculated.The accurcy of the algorithm is confirmed after the c omparsion between the calculation results and the simulation results of the model.This algorithm can be used to estimate the beamwith of the to-be-desinged all-metal reflectarray antenna before start of the large amount of simulation work.And thefore,th is algorithm cound effectively reduce the design time.
