Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs)is a self-organized and distributed network which is composed of a large number of wireless sensor nodes,and it has been increasingly applied in many different areas and fields now.Its main feature is severely limited resources,especially for the constrained energy,which directly affect the lifetime of the entire network.Therefore,energy saving is of great importance for WSNs to run longer.In this thesis,the methods of extending the lifetime of wireless sensor networks are studied from the point of view of base station location optimization.The main work is as follows:(1)The development prospect,research status and the technology related to the network lifetime,including the definition of WSNs lifetime,coverage control technology,routing protocol and base station location optimization technology are introduced.(2)The optimization theory is used for model building of the wireless sensor networks,and the method of optimizing the lifetime of the WSNs is analyzed;a base station location optimization algorithm based on energy-aware in wireless sensor networks is proposed in this thesis for the limitation of Greedy algorithm,which can not balance the energy distribution of the network.The simulation results show that the new algorithm can balance the energy distribution of the network and further extend the network lifetime.(3)A mobile base station algorithm based on genetic algorithm for wireless sensor networks is proposed.Firstly,the optimal base station position of the WSNs is modeled by combining the concept of potential energy value;secondly,the standard genetic algorithm is used to solve the model,for the "early maturing" problem of the standard genetic algorithm,the hierarchical genetic algorithm is used to solve the model again;the result will be the optimal position of the base station in the next round of data collection.The simulation results show that the genetic algorithm can calculate the moving path of the base station quickly,and the mobile base station algorithm can further extend the lifetime of the WSNs.
