This paper uses polymer chain orientation technology to modify the refractive index of the material.The research started from the study of chain orientation of polymer monomer,and then deep into the two materials blending system.The works can be listed as below:(1)Explore chain orientation conditions of red,green and blue emission polymer,and then the chain orientation process of two kinds of material blends was studied by using the principle of energy transfer.Three alignment layers PI,PEDOT: PSS and SD1 were used as orientation substrates.The relationship between the degree of orientation and the thickness of the polymer was studied.The polarization of absorption and photoluminescence spectra of the polymer with and without are compared.(2)Combining patterning technology with the orientation of substrate layer to fabricate planar optical waveguide.Different substrate layer and substrate patterning methods were used.The refractive index inside the chain orientation area is anisotropy,while outside is isotropic.Therefore,light can be confined within thepatterned area.It was called planar optical waveguide since the form of waveguide was due to anisotropy refractive index without changing the thickness of the thin films.(3)In-depth study to the properties of SD1 as the orientation substrate,by changing the orientation of the molecular chain on the same waveguide lead to a waveguide which allowed the bend of the direction of incident light.Finally,using CA as inter layer,multi-layer chain orientation films were demonstrated.
