At present, the world is a developing information age.Opticalcommunications is an important technology building informationsociety, therefore, integrated optics has become the field that theinternational scholars focus on. Polymer planar optical waveguide isan important research field in the field of integrated optics.Thepolymer planar optical waveguide used as sensor is a new attempt whichis very helpful to the future development of sensors.This thesis is about the fundamental research of the polymer MZIwaveguide liquid refractive index sensor and the polymer waveguideBragg grating temperature sensor, the main work are:(1) In thepolymer MZI waveguide liquid refractive index sensor, the length ofsensing window was optimized by means of the VC++software programming. In the chosen measuring range, the monotonicity change of measurementcurve can be realized, and the higher sensing sensitivity can beobtained. The device which has very good performances was fabricatedtaking advantage of microelectronics technology, and the stability ofthe test system is improved by the aluminum probe device fixed on thetest platform,the refractive index sensing function is realized bytesting the relationship between the output optical power and themeasured liquid concentration.(2) In the polymer waveguide Bragggrating temperature sensor, according to the existing processconditions,the grating structure is reasonably designed, the gratingcharacteristic parameters are analyzed by means of the MATLAB softwareprogramming, the Bragg waveguide grating filter which has goodperformances is prepared by using ultraviolet lithography and ICPetching, and the temperature sensing function is realized by thetesting the drift of the resonance wavelength with the temperature change,the sensor sensitivity is-0.20686nm/℃.
