The Locator and Identifier Separation Protocol(LISP)enables separation of IP addresses into two numbering space: the information of Identifier and the information of Locator,which also means that IP address of one node no longer presents the information of Identifier and Locator at the same time,so that is a effectively method to alleviate the problems of Internet's scalability,mobility,muti-homing and so no.Among all the solution on the problem of solving the problem of Internet's scalability,the LISP protocol does not need to modify the protocol stack of hosts,which as a result to be deploied easily in the present network,and LISP has become one of the important research directions of the next generation Internet architecture.xTR(Ingress / Egress Tunnel Router)is a node that is used to complete the function of changing from the information of identifier to the information of locator in the LISP network,which also seperates the core network and edge nework.The main implementation of the current xTRs,such as Open LISP that completes the function of En/Decapsulation by modifying the protocol stack of routers.However,the x TRs which maintain the information of EID-RLOC mappings in the data plane have the following disadvantages: 1)lack of flexibility,which can not be dynamically configured to enable redirect traffic of communication links;2)mapping relationship can not be updated in time,EID-RLOC mappings can not be updated timely due to the mobility of host and the failure of links.This paper focuses on the above problems,which has these following main works and contributions:1.The concept and model of an Open Control-plane xTR(Open xTR)are proposed.By using the thought o I2RS(Interface to the Routing System)protocol,Open x TR opens the control plane to achieve the abilities of dynamic configuration of Mapping relationships in order ot improve the flexibility of xTRs,which helps to solve the problem of muti-homing,links congestion.2.The design of Open xTR model is introduced in details.The Aging and Update Algorithm is proposed,which not only reduces the requirement of storage space of Mpping talbe as result to accelerate the speed of entry search;but also helps to get the present Mapping relationships to solve the problem of updating problem.Meanwhile the implementations of Open x TR's modules are designed in detail,which effectively enhance the processing efficientcy of these modules to improve the entire performance of Open x TR.3.The Open x TR prototype has been implemented and tests have been designed to evaluat this prototype.The results show that the Open x TR open the control plane to the external controllers which can configure the x TR's mapping relationships,which revolve efficiently the problem of muti-homing.Meanwhile,the aging and update algorithm provide high performance in reducing the storage space and updating of Mapping relatinoships in the x TR.To sum up,in order to solve the shortcomings that exist in the current xTR,this paper proposes an open control plane model based on xTR--Open xTR.Since the model has high flexibility and high capacity of the mapping table updates,the network be able to resolve multi-path selection and mapping table update problems,having theoretical and practical value to the implementation of the current x TR router.
