Recently, the Internet faces the routing scalability issue. Because of the rapidgrowth of DFZ(Default Free Zone), longer routing convergence time, and the upgradeof the core router hardware requirements. In order to solve the problem, IETF and IRTFare focusing on the name and locator separation protocol LISP, which do not need tochange the end system in the edge network and the routers in the core network.The keytechnologies are the construction of the mapping system and mobility.The mapping system of LISP has a lot of research,which uses distributed hash tablewith many merits, such as scalability, robustness, security, load balance, and availability.In LISP-DHT, the logical network does not match the physical network.. In order tosolve the problem, this thesis presents the D1HT+Chord mapping system that hasdouble layer structure and assigned the location of mapping server by geographic region.The thesis explains the main points and how it works, and carried out some theoreticalanalysis and comparisons with LISP-DHT. The results show that the average ofpropagation delay and average Path length are all promoted. But there are someshortcoming in load balance of D1HT+Chord mapping system. I do someimprovements in query mechanism of D1HT+Chord mapping system to improve theload balance. The simulation results of load balance show that the modification issignificantly lower than original query mechanism in load balancing ratio.The thesis also do some research of mapping system mobility and discusse theexisting mobility scheme of locator and identifier separation network, such as SMOS,ISMS, and IM. There is a drawback of IM mobility solutions, which IM does not haveshortest transmission path. the thesis presents the modified IM to solve thisdisadvantage. The results of theoretical analysis show that the modified IM is betterthan other schemes in handoff delay and transmission cost. We also make somesimulations about mapping update of mobility mechanism in D1HT+Chord and Chord.At last, in the design of buffer mechanism of date packet, I propose control mechanismof data packet transmission and allocation method of buffer area. I do corresponding simulations and obtain the difference of the proposed scheme performance. Accordingto these simulation result, the thesis carry out some analysis.
