With the development of semiconductor technology, the number of cores on a chip is increasing.Multicore on-chip communication becomes a bottleneck of performance for Networks-on-Chip.The Networks-on-Chip as a very promising multicore chip architectures replaces the traditional bus-based interconnect and became the hotspot of research.Multicast communication in Networks-on-Chip as an important means of communication has a great impact on network performance. However,in recent multicast routing algorithms the resource utilization is not balanced. At the same time, resources are not fully utilized insufficient, affecting the performance of the network. To solve these problems,we optimize the multicast routing algorithm based on the existing. The main work of this paper is as follows:1.This paper studied on the advantages and disadvantages of multicast routing algorithms in recent years, carried out to evaluate the performance and sensitivity analysis and scalability analysis.2.The proposed and implemented multicast routing algorithm based on the bubble flow control methods, and theoretically proved that the multicast algorithm is deadlock-free.This method makes full use of network resources by the injection of bubble.3.Finally,the micro-architecture of router based on the novel algorithm was studied. At the same time,it was compared including the performance, area and power between the novel algorithm and popular algorithms. The results of experiments show that the performance of novel algorithm is superior to the current popular algorithms and the area and power of novel algorithm are more advantage.
