In recent years,with advances in electronic technology,especially the rapid development of electronic systems of Doppler radar,the demand for high power,high efficiency and wideband solid state power amplifier is increasing.Currently,due to the limited output power of a single solid-state device,it is difficult to meet the need of X-band Doppler radar transmitter.According to the principle of microwave power amplifier,advanced microwave CAD simulation technology is adopted to simulate and optimize the circuits.The power amplifier circuit,power amplifier control circuit,power bias and monitoring protection circuit are designed.The final design has realized the eight channels broadband power amplifier in X-band.According to the spatial power combining technology principles,this paper has researched the main factors affecting the efficiency of power combining and analyzed the effective way to improve the power combining efficiency.All these contribute to improving the output power of the amplifier.The use of high accuracy multi-channel phase compensation technology ensures the multipath signal phase.The multi-channel signal power's integration in the free space with space power combining technology is realized based on the antenna array.Test results show that the design of the eight channels broadband power amplifier in X-band and space power combining technology based on the array antenna have a wide application prospect.It can satisfy the work requirements of the X-band Doppler radar transmitter and also can be used in other high power applications.
