The surface coating is very important in the production process in the automobile,household appliances,construction machinery and other industries.At the same time,the spraying quality and cost control are increasingly high requirements.The electrostatic spraying robots came into being in these industries has been widely applied.The quality of spraying electrostatic spraying robot affected by multiple factors,such as:the surface shape,the spraying cup electrostatic voltage,the movement rate,some other spraying parameters,and the optimum spraying trajectory.With the development of robot off-line programming simulation technology,the combination of off-line programming software and CAD/CAM system,we have done the CAD/CAM/ROBOTICS integration.The work safety of the robot has been strengthened,the working time of the robot has been reduced,and the running cost has been reduced.The robot usually adopts fixed spraying parameters,when spraying the workpiece.Because the surface of the workpiece is smooth and the surface structure is uncomplicated.But with the diversification of industrial products,the surface structure is more and more complex.Still with a fixed spraying spraying parameters on complex surface workpiece has not achieved the desired spray quality requirements,and can not play the advantages of spraying robot.So the method of variable spraying came into being,with different spray parameters set in different surface position.So that the robot can ensure smooth uniform film on the workpiece in each position,with the most economical coating done the spraying tasks.This paper attempts to combine the CATIA Secondary Development Technology,ROBCAD Simulation Programming Technology,and Variable Spraying Method to achieve the spraying robot Off-Line Programming.Under the guidance of the variable spraying method,by the CATIA Secondary Development Technology a spraying auxiliary tool was developed.Under the CATIA Secondary Development Technology environment,the spraying model was handled by the auxiliary tool.With the offline simulation technology based on ROBCAD the robot off-line programs were worked out.
