Since the 21 st century, China's telecommunications industry has entered a stage of rapid development, the traditional telecom services such as fixed telephone service gradually declining, Internet-led data communications business has being risen of the trend. With the large-scale popularity of high-speed broadband and data communications business types, the demand for more and more diversified, the old data communication network has been difficult to meet the business development requirements. In the view of this situation, solving the contradiction between the continuous increase of traffic and the shortage of network resources becomes the key in the fierce market competition, and the application of the flow control system becomes the key to resolve the contradiction.This paper aims at solving the problem of traffic identification and control in MAN. Through studying the principles and methods of traffic identification and control for traffic control system, the flow control strategy for source traffic and destination traffic is proposed. By analyzing the recognition function of flow control system and identifying the traffic of Shenyang metro network, the control method based on P2 P traffic in MAN is determined. Collect and analyze the traffic flow and quality of the export in the MAN, and analyze the three traffic problems caused by the blocking of the export flow. In this paper, the flow control strategy and the priority of policy implementation are formulated according to the traffic problem faced by MAN and according to the control characteristics of different flow control systems, and the fine division of P2 P traffic in metropolitan area network, The purpose of fine control, combined with Shenyang Tietong broadband metropolitan area network will be the actual situation of the flow control system for deployment.By collecting the actual test results and analyzing and comparing the data before and after the system deployment, it proves that the flow control system of the integrated flow control system is effective in the control of traffic flow and the control effect of the guidance system is obvious. In the condition of limited flow under the premise of improving the optimization of the entire metro network quality, control network operating costs for the stability of metro and sustainable development has laid a good foundation.
