With the increasing of people's demand of the data transmission rate, ultra-high data rate wireless communication is paid more and more attention by scholars. However, the transmission distance of terahertz wave is very short which is due to the transmission attenuation is very large when terahertz wave transmit in the air, which limitted the performance of the network. Currently, there are little studies on ultra-high data rate wireless personal area network in the routing protocol, which seriously affected the research and application of ultra-high data rate wireless communication technology. Two routing protocols suitable for ultra-high data rate wireless personal area networks are proposed in this paper. The major contents of this thesis are as follows:1. According to our observation, there are some problems in the existing wireless personal area networks, when the communication is between two networks. In intra-network communication, since the traffic is imbalance, there is a waste of time slot in the network. In inter-networks communication, since the interference-avoiding slot-schedule schemes is irrationality, there are problems of inflexible slot allocation and large time delay. To address the problem, a new routing protocol namely LMRP(Low-delay Multi-hop Routing Protocol) is put forward. The new protocol contains enabling idle time slot mechanism and dividing time slot self-adaption mechanism. Enabling idle time slot mechanism can alleviate the waste of time slot, and increase the network throughput. Dividing time slot self-adaption mechanism can greatly reduce the network delay of communication between networks and decrease control overhead for applying time slot.2. In view of the existing intra-network communication of wireless personal area networks, due to the nodes' load which is used for computing multi-hop path is not be updated timely, lead to the multiple hops path is not optimal which calculated by PNC. And affect the performance of the network. In the slot assignment of the multi-hop concurrent transmission, as a result of the limitation of transmission data can only be a jump in each super frame, reduces the utilization of CTAP period. To solve the above problems, this paper presents a new multi-hops concurrent transmission routing protocol for ultra-high data rate wireless personal area network —— IMHCT(Improved Multi-Hop Concurrent Transmission). The new protocol contains the path selection with updating load mechanism and the intra-frame multi-hop concurrent mechanism. The path selection with updating load mechanism allows PNC choose a better multi-hop path, increase network throughput, reduce the ete-delay. The intra-frame multi-hop concurrent mechanism can improve the slot utilization of CTAP period, and greatly reducing the multi-hop network ete-delay.At last, the summary and future research directions of terahertz wireless network routing protocols are given.
