Powerline is an important factor for the safety of low altitude flight helicopters,and the Polarimetric Millimeter Wave Radar was used to detect the Powerline for helicopters in the past.However,when the angle between the radar beam bearing and the normal of powerline is over o?20,the echo intensity of Powerline is very small,due to the unique Bragg scattering characteristics of the powerline,so that there may be a crash risk.The full range detection of power lines using MIMO polarimetric millimeter wave radar and an assisted wide range optical camera are of great importance to the safe flight of helicopters.First,the power line detection system is described in this paper,which use MIMO polarization of millimeter wave radar and a wide range of optical camera,and two important definitions are given,namely the full range of radar echo signal-tonoise ratio and power line features in the wide range optical image,and then,a PFBSLFMCW signal is designed for MIMO Millimeter Wave Radar,the structure model and the polarization scattering characteristics of powerline are introduced in the last.Secondly,according to the characteristics of power lines in radar echoes and wide range images,different detection and recognition methods are adopted for powerline respectively.In the radar echo,the Expected Likelihood detection method is first used for power line detection even in low SNR can get a better results,and Bragg scattering characteristics of power line,to identify using fractal dimension algorithm,and compared with the support vector machine classification results;In a wide range optical image,two methods of power line detection are introduced based on K-means clustering and LSD algorithm,and the power line features in the wide range optical image are extracted for the recognition by using the Deep Belief Network(DBN)and SVM.Finally,high frequency and low frequency components of radar image and optical image are fused by wavelet transform based on different fusion rules,so as to improve the reliability of power line detection.
