The purposes of this paper is to design,optimize and improve the electrical control system of steel pipe expanding machine whose diameter is 508-1422 mm,thickness is 8-40 mm,and length is 8-12.2m.The advantage of the mechanical automatic expanding machine is that it has advanced hardware,stable control system performance,a high degree of automation,alarm and a variety of equipment protection complete.However,the mechanical automatic expanding machine also has lots of problems.For example,it's structure is too complex,the electrical control system hardware and software debugging,maintenance is difficult,it is difficult to write and debug,it can not automatically expand long pipe,and it is not ideal to expend ultra-thin,and ultra-thick steel pipe.Through independent study,the working process,electrical design,hardware configuration and PLC program of the German expanding machine are fully understood,On this basis,according to the production needs of the diameter of the design and transformation.The main work of this paper is as follows:Firstly,the working principle and process are given LSAW pipe expanding machine,the expanding machine equipment layout,function of each process are described,the pipe expanding process of batch delivery process were analyzed,the design of control scheme.Secondly,the calculation method of the length of the steel pipe,the calculation of the number of the expansion step,and the technical requirements of the step control of the clamping trolley are determined.This paper presents the hardware and electrical components of the expander,the field layout of the electrical components,the circuit design of the control system,the hardware configuration of PLC.Thirdly,the delivery pipe expanding machine clamp trolley related procedures were designed and prepared;optimized man-machine interface;The original English,German dual language man-machine interface program design for the Chinese,English,German three language operating procedures.Finally,by designing the electrical control system,programming and optimizing,it realized automatic expansion expanding machine for long,short,thin,thick wall and different specifications of LSAW pipe diameter.The equipment operation and the maintenance is more simple.Besides the pipe expanding precision and product quality is improved,and the the efficiency of the production line is improved.
