The Study On Publication Of The Republic Of China "the Journalism Quarterly"

The Journalism quarterly is a professional journal founded by journalism institute of the central political university and recognized as one of the best professional journal during the period of the Republic of China.It started in November 1939,closed in February 1942 and reprinted two issues in 1947.This journal totally printed eight issues in eight years.The Content was involved in multiple fields,including journalism in wartime,the diathesis of journalist,news activities,status of the press and journalism history.This journal provided important data in understanding the journalism status in the period of the Republic of China.However,the study of The Journalism quarterly is still almost blank to date.Our study combined literature analysis and system analysis,and placed The Journalism quarterly in the historical space of that time,comprehensively analyzing its background,periodical feature,and issue content,etc.Our study will provide useful information for research of contemporary journalism.This article includes three parts of content.The first part(chapter #1)is the introduction,which mainly discusses the topic research origin and significance,the research goal and methods,and literature review,etc.The second part is the main body(from chapter #2 to chapter #5).The #2 chapter focuses on some basic issues,which include background and feature of The Journalism Quarterly,the time of initial issue and closure,periodical circulation situation,periodical aim,editors and writers,and column design.The #3 chapter and the #4 chapter are the analyzing part of contents of the journal,which trims content of the journal and analyzes reason of the proposed problems and put forward the relevant solution method,through combining studies of the different social environments,media ecology and academic research stages.The #5 chapter is a review of the journalism quarterly,which analyzes the characteristics of the journal and reviews its historical value and the reference for modern journalism by comparing the journal with other academic journals as well as other periodicals in the same period.Finally,the #6 chapter give a brief summary of the whole thesis.
