In recent years the development of cloud computing has brought great changes to the entire IT industry, its application changed the way we work and the social business models. Open source cloud computing platform has been developing rapidly at the present stage, OpenStack cloud computing platform is the most widely used one among them. OpenStack project provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service solution through a variety of complementary components each of them has different functions and it has brought convenience for construction and management of public and private clouds. In addition, open source container technology represented by Docker is also widely used, as opposed to virtual machine, container is more lightweight and it has a lot of advantages in aspects of resource use efficiency, system extensibility.So bringing container resource and infrastructure resources of computing, storage, network together, construct and build a unified resource management system based on OpenStack platform that be able to provide resource management in the form of Software-as-a-Service and provide a combination of virtual machines and containers services. This is of great significance that the system can simplify resource management,accelerate speed of user applications being published online and reduce operating costs.This paper firstly analyzed the background and significance of the research, summarized the development of the status quo at home and abroad, and then introduced key technologies involved in the cloud computing platform and application development, next analyzed business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements; based on the requirement analysis, this paper designed the system in overall way,designed the structure and domain modeling of the system, with virtual machine?cluster and container resources as the center respectively,designed the class diagrams as well as the relationship between them, and to create a virtual machine as an example of resource operation related control class, designed the state transition diagram of virtual machine and other resources. designed the unified process in term of cloud platform interactive methods, resource processes, virtual cores and memory configuration, and the data access layer of the system that interacts with the database; based on requirement analysis and system design, then described the implementation mechanisms and methods of the system in terms of user authentication and security, resource management of virtual machines, containers, network, storage and monitoring. and also tested and analyzed the system, verified the effectiveness of resource management and cloud services, and finally summarized the paper and prospected future research.
