Since the bottleneck on the single core DSP,researchers turn to the multi-core DSP for futher development.Currently,"triple play" service--voice,video and data,has become the industry trend.At the same time,the multi-core DSP becomes the core component of many industrial and electronic products,and it is widely used in many fields such as consumption,communication,medical service,military etc.Developments in modern communication are processing along digital,integrate,intelligent,broadband and personal,and the great power of the multi-core DSP in its parallel processing determines its decesive applications in it.Some application scenarios of multi-core DSP are introduced at the beginning of this thesis with a discussion of multi-core DSP's task processing modes and a general introduction of wireless signal processing technology.Then,the software and hardware platform--Freescale Company's MSC8157 multi-core DSP and its debug tool,CodeWarrior--for the applications in this thesis are briefly introduced.Master-slave mode,data flow mode and mixed mode are common design modes in the application of multi-core DSP.Master-slave mode and data flow mode in the application of multi-core DSP are designed and implemented through the signal receiving of GSM in the communication field.The main work and innovations of this thesis are as follows:1 The major processing modes of multi-core DSP are analyzed.Some performance indexes in the application of multi-core DSP are given,which can be used for the reference in the design application of multi-core DSP.2.A design called GSM two-way signal multiple channels receiving system is proposed.It can achieve the GSM base station and the mobile two-way multiple channels receiving signals at the same time in order to monitor multiple cells and multiple users simultaneously.3.The design and implementation of multi-core master-slave mode of GSM two-way signal multiple channels receiving system are completed.The design feature of the master-slave mode is that there is one main control core used to maintain system resources and schedule tasks.This thesis expounds the design and implementation plan of the master-slave mode of this system in detail,focuses on introducing the task scheduling mechanism in the design plan,and discusses the experimental results.4.The design and implementation of data flow mode of GSM two-way signal multiple channels receiving system are completed.There is no distinction between master core and slave core in data flow mode.Tasks are started from the access to the core and then processed into assembly line.This mode involves communication between cores.The key as well as difficult point of the design is to equally distribute the load due to processing tasks among every core in order to complete the overall task better.This thesis thoroughly illustrates the design and implementation plan of the data flow mode of this system,especially the introduction of communication between cores and data exchange interface section.Finally,the experimental results are discussed.
