The growing need for communications and multimedia services makes short-range and high-speed wireless communication become trends of today's communications. To improve the performance of Ultra Wideband (UWB) systems, many novel transmission schemes have attracted more and more attention. This dissertation focuses on studying multiband IR-UWB system model based on Prolate Spheroidal Wave Function (PSWF), the transmission mechanism and narrowband interference immigration issues. Compared with conventional single-band UWB technology, this new system offers properties such as high transmission rate, flexible spectrum utilization, etc., which will be a new direction of future technologies.Firstly, UWB technology features and multiband spectrum allocation methods were introduced, and the model practicality of multiband IR-UWB system based on PSWF was discussed in theory. Because of the band-limited and orthogonal characteristics of PSWF, it can be used to replace band-pass filter to ensure that each band is mutually independent, so the receiver can use coherent demodulation. Moreover, the BER expression of the system in AWGN channel was given. Through simulation, the main factors that affect the performance of multiband IR-UWB system have been found, which include pulse duration and modulation. What's more, the system performance in multipath channel was studied. Rake receiver was applied to this system to capture the multipath-rich property of UWB channels. A comparison of system performance with different types of Rake receiver was analyzed. Then we talked about the relationship between the transmission rate and sub bands numbers in multipath channel. Finally. the interference mitigation was discussed. Two narrow-band suppression methods and their comparative analysis were given. which provides choices for the multiband IR-UWB system coexistence with narrowband interference. From two views of theory and simulation, this paper proves the model feasibility of multiband IR-UWB communication system based on PSWF and studies the narrowband interference mitigation, which provides theoretical basis and new ideas for the physical layer design of multi-sensor networks.
